The Ottawa Rotary Club Presents: Fighting Fentanyl...Know is the new NO!

  • OTTAWA MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM 301 South Hickory Street Ottawa, KS, 66067 United States (map)

The Ottawa Rotary Club invites you to be a part of this free community presentation of "Fighting Fentanyl...Know is the new NO" on Monday, June 9, 2025 at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium.

The introduction of illegally manufactured fentanyl into the drug supply has changed everything. Counterfeit pills are everywhere, and drug cartels are targeting our youth with our own technology…smart phones and apps. It just takes a few clicks to find a fake pill and it can be delivered to your home just like ordering a pizza. The only safe pill is one that comes prescribed by a doctor and filled at a pharmacy. This is a topic that EVERY family needs to be talking about at the dinner table...often.

Libby Davis is a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and nurse. Her story of fentanyl is a very personal family tragedy. She is the mom of Cooper, a 16-year-old who died from fentanyl poisoning in 2021. She and her husband, along with the rest of their family, have founded the Cooper Davis Memorial Foundation also known as “Keepin’ Clean for Coop”, a nonprofit organization with a focus on spreading awareness and providing education about the dangers of fentanyl and fake pills.

Our community partners: The Franklin County Substance Use Prevention Coalition, and the Elizabeth Layton Center will have information available for the public as well.

We strongly encourage families with pre-teens and teenagers to attend and bring their kids with them.
